Thank you for being so genuine and real, I appreciate honesty and authenticity. I learn so much from your words and find commonality with your feelings as my son is serving in Brazil. He is still trying to find balance and happiness. May you find yourself safely in Angola soon. God bless you!!

Raleigh!!! What beautiful, honest, personal and touching words! I really appreciate you sharing them and for being real! You’ve made my day brighter by reading this - so thank you! Stoked you’re on your way to Angola!!! The thing that helped me the most when I was in Haiti was remembering to have fun, to find the joy! “Men are that they might have joy!” Enjoy your time there and love on them (and yourself) in the best Raleigh way possible! Love you brother! 😊⚡️✨

Hi Raleigh--You don't know me. I'm a friend of your moms. (And truth be told your mom and I don't know each other all that well either. We are online friends who met one time in Palm Springs, right before she boarded a plane home to be with your family friends in their time of need. But it was a serendipitous meeting to say the least.) Anyway, I have been so impressed with your wisdom, depth and vulnerability. Your perspective on the gospel resonates with me so deeply. (Is it the one and only? No. Can it be one pathway to more light and love? Yes.) And also the heartache of your struggles mingled with the glimpse of light and joy are tenderly raw and tenderly renewing. (I remember one writer describing it as being "cradled in the free-fall.") I appreciate your writing and hope you continue to write as a missionary and beyond! You have a gift and I feel more nourished for reading. I hope you feel peace, love and purpose as you move forward--whatever that path may be. I hope you find the right connections to the people placed in your path and vice versa. Best to you during this transformative time and I am looking forward to more updates in the coming weeks/months or however long. And yay for Angola!

Ahhh- my first comment got erased. This one is a simple redo of love and admiration and gratitude for your unique take. No one has ever done what you are doing. No matter what the similarities and opportunities look like on the outside, the inside is full of a perfectly blended style of originality that is needed by those you are with and those of us praying for you.

Rollo love your perspective on all the craziness that is a mission. You have an incredibly powerful gift of being perceptive AND being able to beautifully and clearly describe what you’re seeing and feeling. I definitely remember those feelings and tears early on. Keep seeking, learning and loving!

"By accepting and acknowledging my body’s response to something that is making it feel unsafe, I always find myself settling back into a more enlightened state, from which I can make better informed and inspired decisions about how to continue forward, in a way that perpetuates Love in my life and in the lives of those around me." Wow, Raleigh - I am so amazed at your journey of self reflection and astute observations of the experiences (good and bad) with both your mind and body as you continue with your mission. I don't know you (I've been following your mom on instagram since the beginning of time) but have found your updates so powerful and vulnerable and thought provoking all at once. Learning how to radically accept what you can't change while continuing to view life and your purpose in a positive way is an incredibly powerful and freeing practice to have. Releasing that tight grip on unwanted situations and reminding yourself to let go of what you can't control will undoubtedly serve you mind, body and soul for life, Raleigh. I wish you all the same Love and peace you are spreading in this world and truly look forward to your next update from Angola!
